ADR is a 1957 United nations treaty that governs the international transport of hazardous materials. The abbreviation ADR is derived for the French name for the treaty :- “Accord europeen relatif au transport international des marchandises Dangereuses par Route”. The agreement itself is brief and simple, and its most important article is article 2. This article states that, with the exception of certain exceptionally dangerous materials, hazardous materials may, in general, be transported internationally in wheeled vehicles, provided certain conditions are met. There are 9 (nine) different classes of dangerous goods according to ADR – ranging from “Explosive substances and Articles” to “Miscellaneous dangerous substance and Articles” To ensure we comply with all the latest changes and requirements for ADR transportation we employ a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA). All of our drivers have undertaken the requisite training to comply with ADR regulations and the majority of our vehicles are kitted out with ADR equipment.
We provide a range of 4×4 vehicles to cover any of the smaller eventualities. All of the vehicles have the capacity to pull 3500kgs. All of the vehicles have been fitted with tachographs and the drivers who use them are all CPC trained. To accompany the vehicles we have two Ifor Williams plant trailers – one of which is equipped with a small crane giving us great flexibility.
The uses for this vehicle are almost limitless. It can be used for pulling small towable loads or for pulling drag trailers with large, more bulky items. The beauty of this vehicle is that it can pull most things off road giving massive flexibility and adaptability. It also has the bonus of a small crane capable of lifting up to 1400kgs.
To assist in the smooth and efficient running of the operation the following accreditation’s have been obtained: Constructionline – we have undergone the rigorous scrutiny with Constructionline and attained Gold status Appointed person – ALLMI trained who can provide risk assessments, method statements and lift plans. Drivers – are fully trained in crane operation (ALLMI), ADR , all have drivers CPC. We hold a current Waste carriers license (CBDU134959) FORS – we are Silver accredited. NEBOSH – we have staff trained with NEBOSH certificate. All vehicles have tracking devices fitted so we can keep our Customers fully aware of where their goods are. DGSA – we have appointed a Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser through Roadsafe Europe to ensure we comply with all dangerous goods movements requirements.
